ReverseGPT.ai ("we", "us", or "our") operates an AI-powered writing platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website, applications, and related services (the "Service").

ReverseGPT is a text-only writing tool. It rewrites text you paste in so it reads more naturally, grades and proofreads writing, and checks factual claims and citations. It does not create, edit, or process images, video, or audio.

2. Information We Collect

When you use ReverseGPT.ai, we may collect:

• Account information: Name, email address, and authentication credentials.
• Information from Google: If you choose to sign in with Google, the limited profile information described in Section 5.
• Payment information: Billing details processed securely through our payment providers (we do not store full payment card details).
• Content you provide: Text, prompts, instructions, and files you submit for processing.
• Output content: Humanized or generated text and associated metadata.
• Usage data: Information about how you interact with the Service, including features used and actions taken.
• Device and technical information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers.
• Cookies and similar technologies: For authentication, preferences, security, and analytics.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve our AI writing and text processing features.
• Process your requests and return outputs.
• Manage your account, subscription, and available usage limits.

4. AI Processing and Content

Regarding processing and your submitted content:

• We process your content to provide features such as text humanization, writing assistance, grading, and fact-checking.
• Your content remains yours: You retain ownership of your inputs and outputs, subject to applicable law and third-party rights.
• We may store inputs and outputs so you can access your history and continue using the Service.
• We do not use your content to train our own proprietary models without your explicit consent.
• Where third-party providers are involved, they process only the data reasonably required to deliver requested functionality.

5. Google Sign-In and Google User Data

Signing in with Google is optional; you can always create an account with an email address and password instead. This section describes exactly what we receive from Google and what we do with it.

5.1 Data we access from Google

We request only Google's basic sign-in scopes (openid, email, and profile). Through them we receive:

• Your Google account ID (a unique identifier).
• Your email address and whether Google has verified it.
• Your name.
• The URL of your Google profile picture.

We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Google Photos, or any other Google service, and we do not request any sensitive or restricted scopes. We do not read, upload, or process any of your Google files, messages, or photos.

5.2 How we use it

We use the data received from Google only to:

• Create your ReverseGPT account and sign you in to it.
• Show your name inside your account so you can see which account you are signed in to.
• Send you emails from ReverseGPT: account and service emails (such as receipts, security notices, and policy changes) and, unless you unsubscribe, occasional product updates and offers about ReverseGPT itself. Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link.
• Prevent fraud and abuse of the Service.

We do not use data received from Google to:

• Serve, target, or measure advertising, including retargeting or personalized advertising.
• Train, develop, or improve artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
• Determine credit-worthiness or for lending purposes.
• Build user profiles for sale or for any third party.

5.3 How we share it

We do not sell data received from Google, and we do not transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers. When you sign in with Google, we do not send your Google email address or name, hashed or otherwise, to any advertising or analytics partner.

We disclose it only to the service providers that operate the Service on our behalf (our hosting and database providers, our email providers Resend and Mailchimp so we can send the emails described above, and our payment processor Stripe if you buy a plan), only as needed to provide the Service, or when required by law. Our staff do not read this data except with your consent, to investigate security incidents or abuse, or to comply with the law.

5.4 How we store and protect it

We store your Google account ID, email address, name, and profile picture URL in our account database, along with the sign-in tokens Google returns when you log in. Those tokens are used only to complete sign-in; we do not request offline access and do not call Google APIs on your behalf afterwards. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS, and access to the database is restricted to the systems and personnel who need it to run the Service.

5.5 Retention and deletion

We keep data received from Google for as long as your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing support@reversegpt.ai from the address on your account. We delete your account and the data we received from Google within 30 days of your request, except for any billing records we are legally required to keep. You can also revoke ReverseGPT's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

5.6 Limited Use disclosure

ReverseGPT's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Sharing of Information

We may share information with:

• Service providers: Vendors that support hosting, infrastructure, processing, analytics, and customer support. These include Vercel (hosting), Amazon Web Services (file storage), OpenAI (AI text processing), Exa (web search for fact-checking), Google Cloud Translation (translation), Inngest (background processing), Resend and Mailchimp (email), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection), and Stripe (payments).
• Analytics and advertising partners: Our public website pages use Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and the Meta, X, Reddit, and TikTok pixels to measure visits and the performance of our ads. For accounts created with an email address and password, we may send a one-way hashed (SHA-256) copy of your email address to Meta and X to measure sign-ups and purchases. We never do this for accounts that sign in with Google (see Section 5.3).
• Payment processors: To process subscriptions and transactions.
• Authentication providers: To support secure login and account access.
• Legal authorities: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale, subject to confidentiality obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Data Security

We protect your information through measures such as:

• Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL.
• Encryption of sensitive data at rest where appropriate.
• Access controls and authentication requirements.
• Regular security monitoring and updates.
